About Us

The Dymchurch and District Heritage Group (DDHG) was formed in January 2010 with the following aims and objectives:

  • To further local history research in Dymchurch and the surrounding villages on Romney Marsh
  • To build an archive accessible to the membership and interested members of the public 
  • To publicise the local history of the area
  • To raise funds, apply for grants and accept donations to acquire and preserve items of interest 

 

Meetings are held regularly at the Methodist Church, High Street, Dymchurch and the Group has its own Heritage Room at the rear of the Methodist Church. The room is which is normally open to the public the first Saturday of the month March to November, 2–4pm.

 

New members are always welcome. Annual membership is £8 per person. Admission for meetings is £2 for members and £5 for non-members. Please contact the Secretary Colin Walker for more information email.

Where to Find Us

The DDHG has a room at the rear of the Methodist Church in the High Street, Dymchurch. The entrance is in Chapel Road.   

Meetings

Meetings are held every two months. They are either a talk by a visiting speaker, which take place on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm at the Methodist Church, Dymchurch, or a visit.

 

We are very interested in hearing from people who have photographs, documents and stories we can copy and keep safely in our records.
